Liliana Vess, exploding kittens and a lesson in Norwegian
You look like you have strong opinions about fonts.
First, I’ll be at Heroes Dutch Comic-Con in Utrecht this weekend! It’s beautiful but hot as fuck here, which is the one kind of weather I do not handle, so if you’re in the mood to see a Norwegian melt, come by and say hi!
News: Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories — Liliana Vess
Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories — Liliana is a new four-issue series by Wizards of the Coast and Dark Horse Comics, written by me, with art by Nataliia Rerekina, colors by Lauren Affe and letters by Clayton Cowles.
I’ll talk a bit more about this book later, but I’ll say that it’s been a ton of fun to write, Nataliia is doing a magnificent job with the art, and I can’t wait to see it out there in the world!
Out this week: What If…? Thor Got Spider-Man’s Symbiote Suit?
My What If…? story is out this week! It’s 25 pages of pure Asgardian & symbiote action, fun and bad/great jokes. I hope you’ll check it out!!

Please enjoy the preview pages above, and if you don’t mind a slight spoiler, here’s me talking about one of the aforementioned jokes, including the aforementioned lesson in Norwegian.
Out this week: Catwoman #88
Everything else
I spoke to the lovely people at Comic Book Club about Norn, a comic script-writing tool I’ve been working on! We’ve just opened the alpha to the public, so if you’d like to test it, sign up here.
I had a great time speaking to Jeff over at Traversing The Stars podcast, and you can listen to our conversation here.
I’m writing this in my hotel room in Utrecht. There’s a bubble bath in front of the window and all the leather-clad furniture is shaped in a way that makes you question if it’s supposed to be kinky, or if it’s just Dutch. ?
June is con season, and it feels like I just got back from Enniskillen Comic Fest, which was brilliant. I always forget to take photos at these things, so please enjoy these odd snaps from Enniskillen and Belfast, heavy on the Catwoman, courtesy of the wonderful Joanne. She came in full Catwoman cosplay and let me borrow her mask and whip, and I think I blacked out for a bit there.
I also got to meet the incredible Mari Rolin (if anyone wants to hire her for a story, please let me write it!!) and chat with the wealth of local talent. I love comic-centred cons like this—they feel like so much more than just conventions. I returned to Norway happy and inspired (and just slightly hungover).

What are you reading and watching? I very much enjoyed Normal, yawned my way through In The Grey and felt that Disclosure Day was a Spielberg movie indeed.

Hi Torunn! Catwoman has been lots of fun, can’t wait to see how the story line changes in preparation for the bad seeds event. Are there any plans to come to NYC? Would love to meet you and talk about your works.
Have a great summer!
